Ugly Dumpling

I came here for lunch and it wasn’t a bad choice. Located at Fair Oaks mall, this spot is a great stop for a bite as you shop. Our waiter, Abel, was so kind and absolutely amazing. Service was super quick, and great. We ordered their spicy wontons, braised beef ribs, XLB, shredded beef noodles, and salt and pepper popcorn chicken. For food, I thought that it was all alright. I wish that the food had more depth to them—especially the spicy wontons and the beef noodles. However, I did enjoy their XLB and thought that the broth in the pork and shrimp XLB was delicious. The braised beef ribs were also a good portion and had a good marinade. Overall, not a bad option for some quick Taiwanese dim sum/food!

The Ugly Dumpling is right outside Fair Oaks Mall and is really a fantastic restaurant. It is a lot bigger than it looks and is connected to the mall as well. Orange chicken is excellent. Shrimp stir fried noodles were delicious and perfectly cooked. The soup dumplings were good although the top was a bit dried. Overall great food and a good atmosphere with plenty of seating, will visit again.

Had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, however I felt like the soup dumplings could have had a little more flavor, but the vinegar, soy sauce and chili provided helped with adding it! Our waiter was super tentative and very nice. Wasn't super busy either.

I had an excellent experience thanks to Junior and Sofía. Their customer service was outstanding from start to finish. They were both professional, friendly, and genuinely attentive to my needs. They took the time to listen, answered all my questions clearly, and made sure everything was handled smoothly. It’s rare to come across such a great team, and they truly made the experience enjoyable. Highly recommend—Junior and Sofía went above and beyond!

Visited Ugly Dumpling in Fair Oaks Mall this past weekend with my daughter and nieces. We arrived around 6pm on Sunday and were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant is spacious and has a really nice interior. We were a party of five and ordered a variety of dishes to share. Our favorite items were the string beans with garlic and the cucumber salad. The hot and sour soup was also a generous portion definitely big enough to share. For our main dishes, we tried the chicken fried rice, chicken and broccoli, chicken soup dumplings, chicken kimchi dumplings, and the regular chicken dumplings. The chicken dumplings were the favorite, while the soup dumplings didn’t have as much soup as expected. Overall, the food was good, but nothing that stood out as exceptional. Dishes came out as
