UAM Trotter House

My wife and I stayed at the Trotter House over the Labor Day weekend 2017. It was a wonderful experience. The rooms were well appointed with individually controlled thermostats that kept our accommodations nice and chilly. Rebekah was a gracious host and excellent cook. The breakfasts were incredible. My wife has a myriad of health issues that don't allow for much morning activity and Rebekah had no problem with making her a tray to bring to the room. We would highly recommend Trotter House and plan to stay there again on our next visit to the area. ||Rob & Jackie Williams

This is one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in! Our room, The White Oak Room, has two queen beds, two sitting chairs,and was very clean with the best, softest sheets ever. We had a claw bathtub that was so luxurious! We also had a door leading to the upper porch that allowed us to enjoy tea outside in the afternoon. We had a quiet nights sleep on perfect mattresses. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. Rebekah, the innkeeper, was delightful. We highly recommend staying here.

All bed & no breakfast! At no time was this clarified so pay close attention to the review DATES. Wonderful, pristine bedding & a comfortable night’s sleep. That said, it needs a consultant’s eye to freshen interior; deep clean, trim paint, remove dust collectors (tchotchkes), get rid of wallpaper that doesn’t match the era of construction (historically accurate), provide functional seating in bedrooms & a place to put all that pristine bedding; extra pillows & blankets - without putting it in the floor. Exterior has fresh paint in a pale vanilla palette and this attention to detail is needed inside. Disappointing to find the gorgeous dining room is not utilized without special arrangement. From the moment you step into the entry hallway to the moment you say goodbye, the Trotter House is one of those places that makes everybody feel welcome and at HOME. The house itself is beautifully kept and maintained, and one can sense the history in the walls. The breakfasts are NEVER boring, always having a lot of creative thought put into them, and the host is very accommodating to those with food allergies. If you're passing through this area, there really is no other place in town that measures up. Do yourself a favor and stay in this Southern gem!

Everything was great at the Trotter House. Good location, clean B&B, comfortable stay. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area that doesn't want to stay at any of the hotels. Spacious rooms, cute breakfast set up. We were the only 2 in the house the night we stayed so can't comment on noise level, etc when others are there, too. But overall, great stay and will return if ever in the area again.
