U Omakase

This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in NYC. And that’s not an exaggeration. From the time we walked in the entire staff was so attentive and friendly. Isabella, Linda, Lee, the chefs and of course the owner Luis. My boyfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day and you could tell how much care and thought went into the menu and the experience. Every bite was thoughtfully crafted and beautifully plated. Also 5 stars for the music. The playlist was just good vibes :-) Of the 12 courses I don’t know that I even have a favourite. The fluke and the waygu are up there. Thank you, U omakase for a fabulous night!

One of the best meals you can have in Greenpoint, actually all of Brooklyn, today. Besides the Mussel Cappuccino starter (which was absolutely incredible), every dish consists of perfectly prepared fresh fish, a combination of sauces and flavors that take every bite to the next level, and the kind of plating you’d expect from 2-Michelin stars. The one beef plate was cooked just right and super tender. A wonderful wine, beer and sake selection PLUS byob with $20 corkage - can’t go wrong. Will definitely be back as the menu rotates seasonally. A true 5 star experience from beginning to end.

While my partner and I had high expectations going into this restaurant, we were BLOWN away by the experience. The service was great, sake pairing done well, presentation AMAZING, and food matched it all. I can’t wait to recommend this place to all our friends.

Absolutely loved it here. One of my favorite tasting experiences. Food was great, service was wonderful, and I loved the laid back vibes. Every dish was fresh and different and made the whole experience so fun! You can also bring your own drinks (with a corkage fee). Cant get better!

We had an amazing experience here! We came to celebrate an anniversary and got the sake pairing. The staff were so nice and the pours were very generous. They gave us extra sake tastings, a dessert course for everyone and a shot of Japanese whiskey for everyone to celebrate our anniversary! The food was thoughtful and well executed. There was also good variety amongst the dishes. My only con, which is very minor, would be that the staff was clearly very tired as we came for the last service on a Sunday night so we may not have gotten the full descriptions on some food/sake. It was still very good and would highly recommend especially given the price point.
