Turtle Lake Public Library

Called ahead to have a witness signature done. Not a notary, just someone not related to my husband to sign his pension paperwork. Was told “no problem, come in anytime” Went in the following weekend on a Saturday morning. The librarian was busy flirting with a guest when we arrived. When we were asked by the librarian what was needed that particular guest decided to explain that the librarian wasn’t a notary. I asked him if he worked there, as we were not asking for a notary nor were we asking for one. The librarian then lectured me about how her friend was just being nice and trying to help. My wife called ahead about 9 days ago to have my retirement paperwork witnessed (NOT notarized). She was told “no problem, stop in anytime”. We had the first set of paperwork witnessed that night there. The librarian was kind and helpful and told us to come back anytime with the next set. Went in this morning to have the next set witnessed. When we arrived the librarian was busy with a man. We waited patiently for her to be done. She didn’t finish but instead turned to us and asked what we needed. My wife explained we were looking for my retirement paperwork to be witnessed. The man she’d been talking to jumped in to tell us that we can’t have stuff notarized there and to go to the post office. Very I’ve library and great staff but yes hours they have set makes it impossible to visit for people that work. Please do something to fix this and make it so everyone in the community has an opportunity to use this great resource.

I visited the Library yesterday money was taken out of my wallet when I stepped away to take a call I never thought that would happen at this library they should screen their employees for drugs an alcoholic since it's Turtle Meth town nothing was done by the police department or the library. I guess it's ok to steal very disappointed
