The food itself was very good. Everything we ordered was fresh, well prepared, and flavorful, and the kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing. What is disappointing is that Tupelo Honey has removed the collard greens from the menu. For a Southern restaurant, that is not a small change. The greens were a staple and one of the main reasons we came here. They were part of what made this place feel authentic and different from every other restaurant. When you remove core Southern sides like that, you strip away part of the restaurant’s identity. Plenty of places can serve good food, but very few get the Southern classics right. I had the Fried Green Tomatoes. Delicious. My son had the Whiskey Onion Smash Burger and it was so good. The service was great. It was a lovely experience with great service. I didn't get servers name but he is going to New Orleans for Halloween. Excellent service. Highly recommend.

Tupelo Honey is a must-visit for the food and aesthetic. I loved the clean, open space with plants everywhere and the cutest wallpaper. I had the sweet and spicy bone-in fried chicken, and it was messy but delicious—the kind of messy that means you’re doing it right. The honey flavor really came through, and I just wish they offered wet wipes or extra napkins at the table because you’re gonna need them! I chose rosemary parmesan crispy potatoes, but I ended up trading for my partner’s regular fries, which were surprisingly incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and way better than your average side of fries. The food is always very good. This place is a short distance away from my job so I love to stop in on my lunch break and they have a great lunch specials menu. However, if you’re going to advertise as a lunch place with lunch break specials, you need to keep in mind that people have a short time to get lunch before they have to be back at work. The service here is always very very slow. We waited 10 minutes today and still didn’t have any service, I had to go ask a busser if we could see our server. There were barely any people in the restaurant so it wasn’t a matter of it just being very busy. Then, trying to get any actual service was like pulling teeth.
