The food itself was very good. Everything we ordered was fresh, well prepared, and flavorful, and the kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing. What is disappointing is that Tupelo Honey has removed the collard greens from the menu. For a Southern restaurant, that is not a small change. The greens were a staple and one of the main reasons we came here. They were part of what made this place feel authentic and different from every other restaurant. When you remove core Southern sides like that, you strip away part of the restaurant’s identity. Plenty of places can serve good food, but very few get the Southern classics right. That is what Tupelo Honey was known for, and without the greens, it loses a big part of what made it special. The food is still good, but the experience is no longer w
I had the Fried Green Tomatoes. Delicious. My son had the Whiskey Onion Smash Burger and it was so good. The service was great. It was a lovely experience with great service. I didn't get servers name but he is going to New Orleans for Halloween. Excellent service. Highly recommend.
Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar is a delightful gem that brings the heart and soul of Southern cuisine to Omaha! The warm, welcoming atmosphere perfectly complements the delicious dishes you'll find on the menu. The selection of Southern-inspired fare is extensive and beautifully executed. I highly recommend the fried chicken—it’s perfectly crispy and incredibly flavorful, served with delightful sides like mashed potatoes and collard greens. The shrimp and grits are another outstanding choice, combining rich flavors that transport you straight to the South. The drink menu features a fantastic array of craft cocktails and a solid selection of wines. The peach bourbon smash is especially refreshing and pairs well with the savory dishes. Service at Tupelo Honey is attentive and friendl
Tupelo Honey is a must-visit for the food and aesthetic. I loved the clean, open space with plants everywhere and the cutest wallpaper. I had the sweet and spicy bone-in fried chicken, and it was messy but delicious—the kind of messy that means you’re doing it right. The honey flavor really came through, and I just wish they offered wet wipes or extra napkins at the table because you’re gonna need them! I chose rosemary parmesan crispy potatoes, but I ended up trading for my partner’s regular fries, which were surprisingly incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and way better than your average side of fries. Idk what they did to them, but I'll be back just for these. 😅 My partner got the fried chicken sandwich, stacked high with pickles (which he loved). We also tried the Biscuits for a Cause—c
The food is always very good. This place is a short distance away from my job so I love to stop in on my lunch break and they have a great lunch specials menu. However, if you’re going to advertise as a lunch place with lunch break specials, you need to keep in mind that people have a short time to get lunch before they have to be back at work. The service here is always very very slow. We waited 10 minutes today and still didn’t have any service, I had to go ask a busser if we could see our server. There were barely any people in the restaurant so it wasn’t a matter of it just being very busy. Then, trying to get any actual service was like pulling teeth. We waited forever for our drinks which were wrong, forever for our food, forever for a request for condiments, and forever for a box a
