Tulum Fresh Mexican Grill

The Birria tacos were soggy and not well seasoned. The beans and rice was meh. the salsa taste like some dish water maybe got into it. And the birria sauce was minimally seasoned oil. Memphis has wayyyyy better food.

We live about an hour north of Jackson but regularly make trips there either for business events or a day of shopping. In all our years going to Jackson, I'd venture to say that we've encountered a restaurant that rivals just how good Tulum is. During our last trip to town, we were looking for something different for lunch. My wife asked a friend for suggestions, and I Googled them. Both recommended Tulum Fresh Mexican Grill, so we decided to try it. It took us a minute to realize that instead of being instantly seated, you walk up to the counter and order. Since it was our first time in, one of the friendly staff members suggested we grab a couple of menus at the counter, seat ourselves, and look over what they offered before going up to order. They have great customer service but the food is horrible. It doesn’t have any flavor at all. I wasted my money today. If I had known I would have just went to chipotle or moe’s. The queso and the rice bowl was not good at all. Meat not seasoned and it’s like they only gave me a spoon of cheese and a spoon of sour cream. The limes were so dry that no juice came out. will never ever eat here again. I’m a big foodie and I am big on presentation and taste.

I’ve had a lot of fast casual Mexican food before, and even a lot of sit down restaurant Mexican food, Tulum is easily one of my all time favorites from my 57 years, and I’ve only visited once. The flavors of the burrito I had were outstanding. My friend had a quesadilla and it was also excellent. They also brought a little pail of chips, and those were good, as was the salsas you could get at the salsa bar. About the only improvement this place could make is to add another soda machine. The line for getting a drink was sometimes deep. But the food, absolutely amazing and best around when it comes to Mexican. I’ll be back again very soon!
