One of my favorite ramen spots in the city! I would describe the ramen served here as: clean, simple, flavorful! Not a lot of options to pick from and also not much going on in the bowl: broth, meat, small add-ons, ramen but… what else do you really need? This spot hits different especially in winter (or in general when the weather is cold) There’s also a fun story behind this spot (hint: Tsurumen 1000)
Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Ordered at the counter with the assistance of a friendly cashier and then plucked down at a table to wait for the food, which came in about 5-10 minutes but in any case not soon enough! The food was delicious and a bowl costs between $15-$20. Portions aren’t the largest you’ll find but definitely sufficient. The vibe is nice and casual. They have serve yourself water and hot water a few accouchements. They also have highchairs available in the corner if you come with a baby. Each table has plenty of room for the highchair but might not also accommodate a big stroller. Overall, good vibe here and good food. Thank you to the staff. I look forward to coming back!
Tsurumen is one of the greatest ramen shops in the greater Boston area. Broth is always on point, the wavy noodles are my personal favorite but the thin noodles are great too. The Chashu is some of the best- flavorful and wonderfully tender. They are also incredibly efficient so the line does move relatively quickly but the place is very popular so unless you plan around a non peak time, expect a bit of a wait although you do sometimes get lucky with being able to walk right in. The only thing I would change would be that I wish they had an ajitama egg on the menu in addition to an onsen egg but everything else is perfect.
Probably the best ramen I had for a long long time, definitely my favorite in Boston so far, probably my fav across US, it’s review worthy. Perfect ramen to broth ratio, thoughtful presentation (definitely rare to see in a ramen place here,) flavor is very balanced (it could use just a little less onion, but that’s my preference, doesn’t affect the balanced taste). Yes there is only minimal service, but it’s pretty normal for a ramen place, you pay after order and before you sit down.
Went for a miso tsukemen lunch special. It was a long line for the Monday lunch hour. It was delicious. The broth was salty on its own but paired nicely with the noodle. I recommend getting the egg as an add on.
