Category: Gastropub. When I think of Tryst I think of three things: metal, Dessert Ridge, and lunch. Why metal? The decor is industrial chic: metal tables and chairs, stainless steel bar and stools, stainless steel ceiling fans, stainless steel exhaust hood, exposed ductwork and steel trusses, and metal or metal accented pendants. And it works. I like being there. There is also a patio with misters for heat, heaters for cold, and strings of Edison bulbs for ambiance, but we usually sit inside when my friend and I meet there for lunch. Don’t ask me why, because the patio is delightful. I think of Dessert Ridge because it’s directly across the street from the DR mega complex of shops and restaurants, but it’s a lot easier to navigate and park at Tryst. And I think of lunch because
The food tastes OK. Eggs Benedict needs a little work. Mine was cooked too much with no yolk. But I've had their other dishes and they were good.
This woman-owned cafe is near the MIM so we often eat here when we visit. It is a friendly place where we were greeted warmly, seated at a pleasant outdoor table, and promptly served. We tried the Monte Cristo and a Buffalo burger, both delicious! Prices are reasonable and we will be back.
Our server was a delight. The food was scrumptious. The portion left me satisfied. The price was right. I appreciated that the our waitress brought me a 2nd oj when I mentioned that the one I had was watery. I also appreciated the choice of almond or oat milk for my coffee. Thank you I will definitely return before leaving Phoenix.
Really enjoyed the whole experience. Very friendly staff. I had spring rolls appetizer and fish and chips, and one person with me had the beef burger. Both enjoyed the meal a lot. Would definitely return when back in town.
