I got the Butter Pecan Cake with Vanilla Mousse filling and whipped icing for my son’s 4th birthday. THIS CAKE WAS AMAZING, MOIST AND SUPER TASTY!!! It was decorated beautifully! Also it was 100 degrees today and had to transport this cake an hour away with no A/C and it held up perfectly!! Jayme is an amazing artist and baker! She truly does an amazing job and pays close attention to all customers needs! We've had great luck trying small bakeries around the country and the Troutman Baking Company is a good one! I was a little suspect walking in, but sometimes these small bakers create fantastic pastries. We tried both a muffin and a cookie and both were great! Definitely recommend trying them out.

First the pastries were outstanding. I bought the 7 layer cookie bar, two berry tarts and the caramel cheese cake. Probably the best pastries I had had in a long time! The downside is the price...I saw the magic marker that said buy 6 for $30....well I bought four and with tax and 15% gratuity it $41.74. I did not realize the difference that I could have had six pastries instead of four for less money.

We asked for a half strawberry,-half lemonade birthday cake for my mother on her 97th birthday and family reunion. I asked on the phone if they would be pouring a liquid over the cake because we didn't want that. It makes the consistency gooey. They said no. My husband picked up the cake the day before and when he got home with it there was a crack from top to bottom . He assured me he was careful carrying it to the car. I attempted to smooth out the icing but gave up. The next morning one half had settled and more cracks had appeared overnight. Also, the writing was pretty amateurish. My husband called after we got home and left a message about this cracking situation. We heard no reply. Thankfully it was all family and we just laughed it off. I love their gluten and dairy free options. Nothing will ever taste like the real thing, but they come pretty close! And they are always very eye appealing to look at, which is half the fun!
