Tropicana Restaurant

I finally visited this place yesterday after saying I would visit for the last 8 months because my nail tech is next door. About 6 pm I decided to give it a try and boy was I disappointed. After fasting yesterday until I reach this place I decided to try the rice, beef and potatoes, mixed vegetables and tuna noodles salad. The beef, rice and potatoes were good. The mixed vegetables were cold and salad terrible. 4 hours after eating the food I became very sick. Throwing up diarrhea m, stomach cramping, fever and shivering. I did not sleep the entire night. It is now 10:45 the next day and I still feel like crap and debating on if I should go to urgent care. Oh and my food came to $9.19 and the cashier told me $10. I would have never mentioned the price if the food hadn’t made me sick. Not s

Take-out only buffet-type style where the workers scoop the food that you want for you while you stand behind a line. Good variety that differs depending on the day. You get to choose between two different sized platters or by-the-pound pricing. Parking in the front (metered) may not always be readily available. The food is tasty and they give a good amount for the price of the platters. The first time I went, the young lady who helped me was friendly, patient, and very helpful. I have been back a few more times since and will continue to patronize them.

Whent to the store to get food and this is what I was given. I been here before and they served better. More food for the same amount of money. One pice of chiken one scoop of rice one slice of meat and the container was not even full. Before they used to give you alot more for our money not anymore.

A dear friend of mines drove past this restaurant on Frankford Ave and decided to come and pick me up. So we went back and grab something to eat! I wanted fish and some rice. Well well well! I got fish like I never had fish before!!! It was delicious! It’s my birthday on tomorrow! And that fish alone! made my birthday start off Greatttt! I will go back without a doubt!!

I just paid 18$ for a platter with less food that usually cost 12$ because I self serve… 2$ if u use your card which is not fair ..ain’t going back there
