Tropicana Eatery

I usually don't even do a lot of restaurant posts But this whole transaction disturbed me! I'm giving service 1 star I would give less if I could for service!!!!...I placed an order via delivery platform. I sent a note attached to my order. Stating my rice was hard like it was under cooked last time I ordered. And also could they ensure that I received the extra oxtails that I was paying for. I used Please and no aggressive words. Later I received a canceled order from the platform. So I called the store to see if maybe I needed to change what I ordered. The man that answered the phone was very rude and defensive during the conversation. I asked if they were open and taking orders and did I need to maybe pick up the order myself and his response was yes we're open we can't work from home..

As a Jamaican I go to various Jamaican restaurantsin the area. Of course Jerk chicken is my first go to to try it out. I don’t know what kind of seasoning or sauce they use, but it is not Jerk. Mind you, whatever season they use does taste good but it’s not authentic jerk seasoning. The portion is decent for a small. I got up with rice and peas and cabbage. I didn’t get a lot of cabbage dough which one I was hoping for and it’s doused in a lot of sauce. I also ordered a sour sap drink for such a small container. It’s very pricey, but that’s fine so I will stop drink taste a little bit like an authentic soursop beverage, but I rate that low as well. The place seems to be doing a lot of business, but I seriously doubt any of the people coming in here at Jamaican, which is Fine. I’m tempted

I'm not even going to speak on the food. I have been here in the past and the food was always decent. The reason I'm writing today, is the price of the Cucumber Ginger drink! If you charge $8 for a very small bottle, which is more than a whole jerk chicken sandwich...please put the price somewhere on the menu! If that's how much you want to charge for it, cool! But let your customer's know. I ordered a Jerk Chicken Sandwich and a Beef Patty and when my receipt said $19,85, I was like "what the hell?" Then I saw that that little bottle was $8. Do better!

I love me some good food and good food is what I recieve! Everything is always delicious. Definitely hit the spot. Oh and their all natural in house juices are theee best! That fruit punch, baby, is the truth! When I need my Jamaican food fix this one of my fav spots. Us from the area know!

I have been going here since a child to now age roughly 8 - 30. This place has always been top quality, food, service chefs kiss. I always get a full stomach and happy feeling from en route, ordering, back home to eat. This place will ALWAYS Have my love.
