Tropical Spice

This was my first time trying Jamaican food and OMG it was amazing. Once I started I couldn’t put my fork down. I had the Rasta Pasta w/ shrimps and my husband had the oxtails. I can see why the reviews here are exceptional. Will eat here again. I’m not from the area but if you are passing through Covington VA please stop.

An absolute gem in the area. Never would have thought to find fantastic Jamaican food in the middle of rural Virginia, but boy did we! As far as I'm concerned, this is the best restaurant in the entire area, despite not even having an interior dining area. Their portion sizes are more than generous, their prices are phenomenal, and the food was incredible. The only dish we didn't love was the rice and beans, because they were a little bland, but even the cabbage side was fantastic. We had some of the best ribs I've ever had across the country from here, and their jerk chicken tacos were so huge and loaded, my wife and I couldn't even finish a single order together, and we are no slouches when it comes to caloric intake...

From the moment I opened the lid, the aroma alone had me hooked. Each bite was an explosion of savory spices and tender meat that left me craving more. It's evident that the chefs at Tropical Spice take pride in their craft, as every dish is packed with flavor and love. If you're in the mood for some of the best curry goat and curry chicken you'll ever taste, look no further than Tropical Spice Jamaican Restaurant. Highly recommended!

What a little treasure to have in Covington. We were heading home from the Homestead and spotted this place and its great reviews and decided to give it a try. Very clean inside and Fantastic! We were very impressed. It does take a little while to get the food as they are a small kitchen, so just keep that in mind or order ahead!

Covington's hidden gem. Delicious and sizable servings. Will not disappoint. We had the oxtail box and oxtail with mac n cheese. "Tun up food"! Proud to be caribbean and enjoy this comfort food so far away from home.
