Trent's Grill

Altamont is a small town off the beaten path but it's grown since the last time I was here. I had to stop when I noticed the unassuming Trent's Grill when I was passing through. It's an old school, clean, friendly place. They have a fairly simple menu with good prices. The cheeseburger was very good with quality ingredients and a good char. While I was waiting I enjoyed chatting with the owner and listening to the banter from the regulars. It's a great place worth the stop.

The service is friendly and has a home town atmosphere. But being brutally honest the food is subpar in quality. Ordered 3 Philly cheese steaks. There was more bread and cream cheese than actuall steak on the sandwich. Fries were soggy. English chips tasted like it's been cooked in grease that has not been changed in over 5 months. I'm not one to give a bad review, but you are better off making your own food at home for the portion, quality, and what you pay for your meal at this restaurant. 40$ later I could have made a much higher quality sandwich from home. I hope they take this advice and make changes.

Great burger, tacos and fries. Wonderful family running the restaurant! Must eat there if you are in the neighborhood!

BEST CHEESE BURGER I’ve had in a long time! A group of 100 road rally drivers descended upon Trent’s for lunch. Not only did they get us in and out in record time the entire staff was still smiling when the last drive left. The place is clean with plenty of parking. PLUS they didn’t mind a burnout, or two, in front of their business. I’ll drive the 123 miles back to Trent’s for their food.

Was in the area for my job and tried out this little place. I had their double-cheese burger and fries. Was done in a prompt manner and the service was professional but still homey. The food seemed fresh and had a good taste. The facilities were clean. I will be back the next time through.
