I'm a bit picky when it comes to my pastries, especially in terms of flakiness and overall texture. But I've gotta say - I have rarely, if ever, had better viennoiserie. Joe knows how to add a lot of flavor without making a pastry too sweet or salty. There is a nice selection at the shop, and my favorite honestly depends on the day. Everything is done well. This has become a go-to for my wife and me. Central Illinois needed a place like this!

Quick update: Joe just dropped a new raspberry pastry and holy moley it's AMAZING!! Go check it out before it goes away! I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY!! I stalked the Tradecraft since the Riverfront Market and made sure I got in the 1st day of pre-order. The QUALITY of these pastries transports you to Europe, I can't believe we are in central IL! Be patient, new business, so do your pre-order, and be merry. The location is FANTASTIC, right off 155! One love to the small business owners!

Sooooo so good! Loved the raspberry and cinnamon!! We had this for breakfast and as a dessert after dinner. The pastries are really light and you don’t feel sick afterwards. Seriously, so, SO delicious!!

Best croissants I've ever had! Friendly owner offers a variety of nuanced and delicious pastries! Get there quickly or pre-order. They sell out every weekend. Note, it's only for takeout but it's clean and unquestionably worth the trip!

Ok, this place is dangerous. Dangerously delicious that is. Buttery, flaky, layer-y (is that a word? It is now.) That is my description of the basic croissant. Believe me, don't be fooled. The "plain ole" croissant is amazing. We also tried the morning bun. Another flaky buttery pastry, this one came with a satisfying sweet crunch from the glaze. The hubs and I also picked up a chocolate almond croissant and a cinnamon roll, not yet tried. We're in a French pastry coma right now. I expect both pastries will be equally delicious. Central Illinois needs a French bakery like this. Well done. We look forward to returning soon.
