Tortilleria Carmelita

I have been buying barbacoa here for years. I went today & I ended up finding a staple when taking a bite from my taco. I will no longer come here please be careful when buying food here.

They have really good barbacoa. Love the yellow tortillas. I hit this place in the weekends and whenever I need fresh made corn tortillas. They do run out at times. All the staff here is really nice. When they have avocados get some. I don’t know who is sorting their avocados but they are always perfect. Thank you everyone that works there.

So today we went to go get carnitas and ate then we made my son tacos and some kind of wire was found in it like from a wire sponge need to be careful before u serve the food or place the food in the pans

We always get our barbacoa here and it never disappoints! It's lean and does not have too much fat. Love the drive through!

I love the yellow corn tortillas, I always stock up when I go visit family in Alton. I once bought carnitas, and they were the best. Lots of meat, very little grease, good flavor.
