Top of The Bay Restaurant

We were a party of 12 and there was some confusion about our reservation, so it didn’t start off well. Service was kind of slow in the beginning, I don’t think they were well staffed. We were pleasantly surprised that the food was good. The highlights were the rolls with dipping sauces and the Point Judith fried calamari. The fish & chips and lobster bisque were average. The seafood was fresh and very good quality. If you’re looking for some good seafood, I would try this place.

Our server Nate, made our visit so entertaining and educational. He was quick witted and very polite. He helped us decide foods, made things easier. We told him we were taking food back to the hotel and that we were over ordering. We told him what we were thinking and he provided tons of input. We went with the Lobster Bisque, White Clam Chowder, Fried scallops, Warmed Lobster Roll, Lobster Ravioli, Lobster Mac N cheese and Boom Boom Shrimp. Lobster Ravioli we could take or leave but the rest we raved home about. Definitely recommend!

I ventured here with family to celebrate my sister in law's birthday. We found our dinner to be delightful and delicious! We ordered drinks to start, with two sharing a sangria pitcher that could have easily been for four people. I went with a frozen Pina colada and was surprised (especially for these days) how much I received. It was great but they served me enough that I didn't need to order another. (Too often I feel a cocktail costs you $10+ and it's small - not here!) I went with the New England clam chowder and the baked scrod. The chowder was good and the baked scrod was great. The fish was very fresh and I found the coating to be nice. For the vegetable choice, I went with the a mashed apple sort of dish. I don't know exactly what it was, but it was delicious. Amazing Veteran Menu. I mean such great and kind people. Who really made sure we taken care of. Pat was a terrific bartender as we sat at the bar. This was truly a nice place to spend a Veterans Day. Thank You Top Of The Bay. And the Grape Nut Pudding was Outstanding!!! To include the Chicken Parm.

The baked scrod was just ok. I know cod is hard to season, it was fresh yet the bread crumbs topping was underwhelming. Give me some butter and crispy edges, make my mouth water and want to come back for more. The coleslaw was fresh and a good portion- it could definitely benefit from a squeeze of lime or dash of apple cider vinegar to give it a kick. I’d return for the appetizers- stuffed mushrooms and the fried calamari with hot banana peppers were delish! The watermelon sangria was light, cold (the pitcher had lots of ice) and refreshing. We all enjoyed the fruit in the sangria. Loafs of blueberries. The warm rolls were a big hit with Basil butter, olive oil and fresh hummus. We enjoyed all of that!
