Tonno Wakefield

We went to Tonno's Wakefield for the first time for a celebration dinner. Everything was delicious from the bread and oil, to the oysters and octopus apps, and then main courses of monk fish, rib eye and chicken parm. The drinks were excellent as well. Our server was attentive, friendly and helpful with recommendations. We will definitely be back. We missed the happy hour raw bar apps from 4-5, which sounded amazing, so will make a point to get there for an early dinner.

We actually hit Happy Hour, and there's a Happy Hour bites menu. Oysters $1 each/Roasted Oysters $4 each & octopus skewer which I think was also $4. The swordfish melted in your mouth & the salmon over seasonal Risotto was made to perfection.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere and service. The food was delicious, but it was a bit salty. We want to go back and ask for less salt in our cooking.

We stopped at this place in Wakefield and had a really great experience. From the moment we walked in, even though we were late for our reservation, they were kind and accommodating, which immediately set the tone. The service was spot on. Sarah, our waitress, was amazing. Attentive, friendly, and completely on top of everything without being intrusive. You can tell she cares. I also believe the manager, Olivia, was running the floor, and she was absolutely on her game, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. Everything flowed smoothly. The food was outstanding. Every dish we ordered was cooked perfectly and came out timely despite the crowd. You could feel the organization behind the scenes. We dined here just last night for our belated anniversary and I beelined it to Google to leave a review because I was so blown away by our dinner. We've lived in Melrose for a few years and have heard of Tonno but for some reason just never tried it until yesterday. We ordered the clams appetizer, crab cake special, squid ink spaghetti with calamari and shrimp, and halibut with mashed potato and asparagus over lobster bisque. Our waiter, Marcus, was phenomenal (!!!) and also treated us to a delicious flourless chocolate cake for our celebration. Everything was so, so flavorful. And honestly, our meal at Tonno last night was better than anywhere I've eaten in the North End lately.
