Tong Dumpling ( 同同水饺） | Bay Area

I've been going to Tong Dumpling for many years, even back when they were in Cupertino Village. Before covid they were packed all the time, but covid really hit them hard and never seemed to recover like many businesses. They are at a new location inside a food hall and the food and staff are still the same and you can watch them make dumplings all day. In some ways the new space is better in that it feels less cramped. The service is fast and dumplings and other food are still very tasty. We've been going back frequently since the new site opened to support them as their dumplings, dishes and service are still very good.

we were here 2 nights ago for a quick dinner. almost a decade ago we used to dine at the old Cupertino Village location but have found out since the end of the pandemic that it has closed and moved, due to high rent prices. the owners are the same friendly people, and the food still tastes great just like what we had from a decade ago. we ordered their signature pork and cabbage dumplings, the hot n sour soup, and the Zhajiang mian (not a lot but it was a quick dinner). the food was good enough that we’ll consider coming back next time try other things.

Our whole family has loved Tong Dumpling for many years. We were so disappointed when they closed down the Cupertino location, as we thought they were gone for good—until we found out they had moved to a new location! It’s still the same freshly wrapped and cooked dumplings and the same familiar staff. You can see them wrapping dumplings behind the glass window, so you can rest assured these are not premade, frozen dumplings. Their dumplings are quite big in size, with very consistent, tasty fillings. If you eat in, they have great vinegar and minced garlic that make the dumplings taste even better. The owner said they moved because the previous location was too expensive, and they had even considered retiring, but ultimately decided to come back. I hope they stay open forever!

I don’t often write reviews, but felt I had to for Tong Dumpling. These are the best dumplings I’ve had, hands-down. Tastier than the big well-known chain everyone recommends, with faster service, and half the price. This lil’ hole-in-the-wall spot deserves all the business it can get and more. Highly recommend!

I’ve been looking for a go-to hand-made dumpling spot since I moved to the area, and I’m happy to report that I’ve found it. The dumplings here are some of, if not THE best I’ve had. Absolutely an unbeatable deal for the price. The fact I can take some frozen ones home after I dine-in is an awesome bonus.
