Tom's Donuts

I'm originally from Michigan, but I moved to Tennessee for college back in the mid-90s. We have a long-standing tradition that whenever anyone in the family travels to Michigan for a visit, they have to bring back a dozen or so nutty donuts to Tennessee. We almost always stop somewhere along the Michigan-Indiana border to pick up donuts. I've never been to Tom's before, so I thought we'd give this place a try. We arrived around 9 am, and I didn't see any of the nutty donuts we usually get in the display case. However, when I asked if they sold nutty donuts, the young woman said they sold out of the ones they made that morning. Despite that, she said she would make some up for us. Around the same time, a coworker heard we were from out of town and said that she had a few more left in the

There $10 box deal for 15 donuts is great if you go in when they are still somewhat fresh. I've had issues with their hours. The box deal sign would say open but they would be closed. Donuts are good and much better than major chain stores.

You have a great product, BUT you are abusing your pricing power. About a decade ago you raised your price from 80 cents to $1. The simple note taped to the window said “Let’s make it simple…all donuts are a $1”. A 25% increase and I’m guessing your volume was unchanged and you started testing your pricing power and the power of your brand. Saw your Instagram and choose to give this feedback more privately. Brand management and pricing is a funny thing, good luck. Why did you do away with the BOGO gift card this Christmas?

The donuts I received was during their special at 3pm where you get 15 any donuts for 10$. The deal is great if you want to feed a large group. The quality of the donuts were good enough for me to share with others. These donuts are not out of this world or worth driving over an hour for in my opinion. I would still recommend anyone nearby to try this place if they haven’t.

OMG! My family and I went here for our first time today. The wonderful lady behind the counter suggested we warm up the Apple Pie donut and have with ice cream. She said, "it tastes just like apple pie" and boy was she right. Amazing. We will definitely stop in again soon.
