Customer Reviews
The establishment itself is nice, cozy and clean, however the service leaves much to be desired - but i think it’s a matter of mannerism/preferences. I prefer “thank yous and your welcomes” and this place is more cut and dry which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However the food disappointed me. The only thing i enjoyed was the crab and cheese rangoon. the pork bao buns were pretty flavorless and the buns themselves falling apart. my fiance got the shenghai ribs with white rice and i enjoyed the rice. the rib sauce was very thick and the meat wasn’t as tender as id prefer. but the chicken soup dumplings had to be my least favorite. the broth had this odd sweetness that i wasn’t expecting and the texture of the chicken was not pleasant. Would not return.
An excellent place tucked right by the Terminal Market. Dumplings were delicious, lots of options, and service was great.
I have been coming to this restaurant for years and my love for this food has only grown. I have yet to find another place that has better soup dumplings. Tom’s dim sum has the most flavorful soup dumplings I have ever had!! My boyfriend and I LOVE this place!!! I have actually been to the place next door as well, dim sum mania, and their food is not as nearly as flavorful as Tom’s dim sum. The waiters at Tom’s are the best and so much more attentive and friendly. Definitely 10/10 recommend.
Tom's Dim Sum on Arch Street in Philadelphia's Chinatown is an absolute gem! Conveniently located near our hotel, it became our go-to spot, with visits on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day after the parade. The standout experience? Being served by a robot waiter—it added such a fun and modern twist to our meal! The food was unforgettable. The scallion pancakes were perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the noodles were so delicious I’ll be dreaming about them for ages. Every dish we tried was fantastic, and the warm atmosphere made it the perfect spot to unwind during the holiday festivities. Tom’s Dim Sum is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, comforting, and exciting Chinese cuisine!
I ordered General tso's, sesame beef and Singapore noodles . One of the worst General tso's. Tasted more like a sweet and sour sauce. Not to mention the sesame beef and the chicken dish both had the same sauce. Horrible. The Singapore noodles flavor was just about there but there was hardly any chicken pork and I only had two shrimp in it. The portion of noodle to meat not worth the price. This place is not worth your time with so many other good Chinese restaurants around. Save your money go elsewhere. Not to mention I got no silverware sauces or plates. I was told they do not have any. What kind of restaurant serving takeout is that?
