TNT's Tacos N' Tortas

If you love “ street tacos,” try the delicious and well seasoned Al Pastor from TNT’s Tacos N Tortas on 86th in Urbandale. The three made to order are very good, reasonable in price, served fresh with a very courteous staff. There is plenty of parking at the front door or you can drive thru with a small wait as they prepare your special treat which is served ready to enjoy.

Showed up 30 min before close One car in the lot None in line I order 3 tacos, small chips and guacamole I wait with my engine running for almost 20minutes (4 songs on Spotify) for this???? There was like 5 employees in there “working”, how did it take soo long and look soo crappy???? Hands my food out the window super fast tho like there was a line behind me…….i was still the only car in line. What a joke!

Best quesabirria in town. The meat was tender and flavorful, the right amount of cheese, and the au jus was delicious. My husband liked his carnitas torta. We split a mango horchata which was so refreshing. The queso was good and the only thing I wasn’t in love with was the regular salsa, just a little boring. I like that they have a drive thru as it’s easier with a baby, but it’s fresh so it takes longer than just a few minutes (but not forever). We will definitely be back!

The prices seemed a bit high, but that was before we got our food. My wife got the carne asada burrito and I got the torta cubana (pictures posted) they were huge! We also got to choose three small salsa options to go with our dishes, and then we ordered the chips and salsa as well, so we got to try all but one of the salsas they offer. They were all really good. I particularly liked the habañero, even though it was almost more like a queso dip (a bit thicker) than the roja and verde. Also got a passion fruit agua fresca. If you've never tried passion fruit you really should. I fell in love with it while living in the Caribbean, and it's hard to find by itself, but it was excellent. Cool branding but the tacos fell short for me. The tortillas do not seem homemade and the meat isn't made fresh to order. Seems like a whole wheat in the tortilla? Yuck. Steak was a weird cut not what is usually put in real Mexican street tacos. Giant dried out pieces of super lean steak. Lean. Dry. Flavorless. Tasted stewed🤮 None of the salsa were spicy at all. No spicr no flavor. I know were in iowa but these were a big let down. I ordered avocado on my tacos bistec and was not given it. Very overpriced for extremely mid food. Not authentic at all. I feel bad for people who think this is real Mexican food. Big let down
