Tina's Tacos

You better get down to Tina Tacos and bless your taste buds with these tasty and cheesy tacos. The restaurant is small with limited seating so get down there early. I really enjoyed the layer chicken nachos so yummy and delicious. The service is fast and you will not be disappointed. So many varieties of tacos to order such as jerk, shrimp and fish. I heard the drinks are strong and well worth every penny.

So this is an odd one feels like someone’s front room got converted into a bar that also serves tacos. The good news is the tacos are pretty damn good. Very close to the authentic Mexican type crispy shells grape flavors and there’s also a jerk chicken variety just for fun. Super quick casual informal great taco joint. Oh and you can also get a drink at the bar.

I got the vegetarian chalupa and birria and added avocado. It tasted pretty alright but you can tell that the vegetables aren't fresh, potentially all canned. It's ridiculous to charge the same price as meat when the vegetable option is canned potatoes, mushrooms, and beans. The chalupa "shell" is too thick, small, and firm to wrap the vegetables in, so I ate those separately and then poured the broth on the veggies and used a fork to eat the rest. The shell is good because it's fried dough. $17 is insane for this (plus $1 for avocado). If it were $12 I might recommend it after having a few drinks. I paid $21.86 after a 20% tip. I never visited the place that was here before (Plated Nickel?) but it looks like they changed nothing about the dive bar interior except add a TV to play Bob's

Edit: a year ago I went here and highly recommended, today when I visited the experience was drastically different. I still recommend for the food, however I'd suggest ordering ahead, pickup exactly when it's ready but don't spend an extended time inside. One of my favorite things is entering a restaurant, being given the impression that you wish I wasn't there, being ignored, listening to comments made under someone's breath, not being asked if I want a drink and being stared it. I like it even more when it's someone whose skin tone looks like mine. (I hope the sarcasm was dripping). Moral of the story is maybe get delivery. I'm not sure I'd ever eat here again. First time it was amazing. I had a fish taco, jerk chicken taco and the Birria box that comes with a quesadilla, taco and chalupa. Everything was hot, fresh and amazing. He even complemented me with a free bottle of new hot sauce. Second time was even better than the first. Jerk chicken taco and the quesabirria taco box. Just as amazing as the first time if not better. I highly recommend, it’s worth every dime 💯
