Thief River Falls Library

I came here hoping to get some college work done, instead of going to the campus, but the library was anything but quiet. Kids were screaming and running around, and people were on their phones with the volume on. This is a library, not a playground. If there’s storytime or kids’ activities, they should be in a separate, soundproof room. There should also be quiet or study rooms for people who actually need a peaceful space. I shouldn’t have to blast my own phone with my headphones on just to drown out the noise. Very disappointing.

This library hold a special place in my heart so I'm definitely bias here. The window views are pleasant and road facing. RIght on main roads you can watch the hum of this small town without the intrusive noise. The inventory is ample with a healthy focus on their children's collection. If their inventory is not enough, they share with many more libraries across the state and make it easy to order from said inventory with their self-service kiosks. You choose how you get notified when your pickup is ready. The staff is friendly, helpful, and patient. Bring your children to this place they will never forget. And remember to appreciate these facilities provided while we still have them. I sure do.

One of the librarians is consistently rude and condescending. She would probably enjoy working at the DMV better. I've never met a more rude librarian. Get a new job, lady!

Most liked library head there and you'll get a nice librarian. Kids get a nice place to sit down and learn something outside of school. Plus adults and elderly get to read the papers. And read from a wide selection from all of the books in the northwestern Minnesota library circulation. From. Warroad, Rousau and other small ones like badger, greenbush.

Beautiful space! So many newspapers!
