The Yard Milkshake Bar - Downtown Raleigh

This is the second time I’ve visited, the first was when this location first opened. The first visit was lovely and the milkshake I had was really good and memorable so I wanted to try it again. Unfortunately, this milkshake was subpar and it was evident that the quality had gone down. Before I further discuss the condition of the shake, the atmosphere was abrasive as my ears were assaulted with Sk8ter Boi blasted at 300 decibels (no hate to the song it’s a bop). But yeah, it was actually that loud and I’m convinced that all of the Apple Watches in the store went off with a sound safety warning. Another party next to us legit also commented on how their ears were bleeding. The wait time was also very long considering that we literally were the only ones in line waiting to order. Two of us

We’ve seen the awesome ads on social media about this business. Finally had the chance to go check it out, and unfortunately, the hype did not live up to the expectations. Waited for about 7-10 minutes to receive the “Vegan No Milk” and “Strawberry Cheesecake” to which I’ll give 10/10 on presentation; however, it’s a 1/10 on taste and flavor. The vegan cookie was super hard. The chocolate ice cream was more ice than cream. The cheesecake on my husband’s order was hard like it just came out the freezer. Our visit definitely left more than something to be desired especially to spend $26 on two cups of ice cream! Hats off to the business for a nice atmosphere and marketing strategy; sadly, we do not plan to return for a second “try again”.

We're visiting from Germany and entered this establishment with A LOT questions. Stanasia answered all of our questions and we left to come back the next day. The following day, my father ordered the banana split with so much assorted add ons it was unbelievable. We grabbed a butter pecan for mom, wife had sea salt caramel and I had a double scoop homemade vanilla and cake batter. If it wasn't for Stanasia, I don't think our experience would have been so wonderful. Thank our Stanasia for the warm smile and great selection recommendations. Kudos to you. Fun after school spot! This is the place I treat my kids for great grades. We always get their signature jar ice creams. We usually build our own flavors, but their signature flavors are epic! They also have vegan soft serve ice cream.

Most of us love ice cream, but here you can move beyond the "cones" or "cups", or even the basic ice cream with other goodies mixed in. If a bowl of ice cream is all you're looking for, there might be better options, but few places offer the unique combinations like the "Doughnut Touch My Coffee and Cream" that I had - and, hey, they were on Shark Tank!
