My husband and I wanted something new for my birthday dinner so we decided to try the Wooden Shoe since we heard how great it was. We had the sauerkraut balls to start and they were magnificent. We shared the Cod and the Ribeye...Mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes. Everything was excellent. Best meal we've had since moving to the area. Finished our meal with the locally made cheesecake. Delicious. We will be back. New changes are happening in a couple of weeks. Excited to see what they are!

Met up with a buddy and had the Reuben burger, fries, fried pickles and sauerkraut balls. Fried pickles are lightly breaded so the pickle flavor really pops through! The sauerkraut balls with their dipping sauce are ADDICTIVE and the burger was cooked perfectly! Along with the awesome food, the staff are super friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere is great and as a big guy I appreciate the extremely solid construction of all their seating. Will be back with my wife very soon!

Tied this for the first time tonight. I felt horrible for the servers. There were two, and a very busy restaurant. We waited 30 minutes to get drinks, that's not an exaggeration. This wasn't the servers fault, they were literally running trying to keep up. I gave 3 stars because they were trying there best! Food was fine, nothing earth shattering or bad. Just fine. Fair prices. The management needs to do something. You cannot operate a restaurant long term like this successfully. They are lucky the staff they have don't just walk out. If the servers see this, well done. Y'all did the best you could. If the management sees this, you're gonna end up closed if you don't get more staff.

Stopped for a solo dinner at this spot, seemingly in the middle of nowhere—Ohio edition. No parking lot in sight, but plenty of open street parking on a sleepy Wednesday evening. That part worked. Walked in and was greeted with the warmth of a malfunctioning chatbot. The bartender and one server looked like I had just interrupted their final round of “who can care less.” Not ideal. Thankfully, Jacqueline—who ended up serving me—brought some actual human warmth to the table. Appreciate that. Tried their so-called “signature” Wooden Shoe Fried Chicken. Five pieces, small salad, and some fries. The salad felt like it had survived a time loop (yesterday’s, at best), and parts of the chicken were dry enough to qualify as future Mars rations. Taste? Almost none. Maybe the flavor got lost in tr

After the original owner sold, and the new owner remodeled the first time and being a longtime customer of many many years. The chicken was not near as good. Knowing who the original cook was, I knew they changed the recipe on the chicken. We didn’t go back until probably three months ago with our friends. Because our friend who knew about the recipe said they changed it again and it was good. And we did and we were pleasantly surprised and it was very good. So about three weeks ago or four we decided to go back out to the shoe they remodeled again. Remodel job is excellent great seating nice job. However the chicken was not so good and the french fries are awful. The french fries was something to look forward to at the shoe. The french fry cutter broke and they went out and bought another
