The Whately Inn

The food here is superb! We come here regularly for special events and just because :). This time, we went for New Years. Dinner was excellent as usual, but we were seated in a corner that was serviced by a waitress that either was new or really didn't care. When the food came, it wasn't very warm (which is a huge change, it's always hot and right off the stove). It took longer than usual, which was fine because it was a busy holiday. Once delivered, the waitress didn't come back. No drink checks, no making sure that dinner was up to standard, if we needed anything etc. When she did come back, we were finished and our plates were mostly empty. Only then did she ask if we needed anything or drink refills. Well no. She came back with a container for my leftovers because it was "quick

Took wife to nearby candle factory. We asked check out lady for a good place to eat. She told us try the inn,which we did. .A number of people were there but we were seated as soon as we walked in.The menu was very good, nice choices, however on first look you see that the price on the meals were on the upper end. At the end of our meal we both agreed the price was not so bad as everything included, including dessert and coffee and tea, drinks were extra.. I had prime rib, potato and veg. with salad , all excellent, and cooked as requested.My wife had cordon blue and the same sides. Service was wonderful and food great, first time and will return when in the area. 5 stars

Very ,very disappointed ! We went there for Valentines day with 2 other couples, the menu was limited, the prices were obviously increased for that day, 2 of the featured items were sold out by 6:30. The service was absolutely appalling for a restaurant that you spend 600.00 for dinner before tip and our dinners were mediocre at best. It would take to long to elaborate on how bad it was on here but when I reached out to the owners/manager, (leaving a message with a woman) because I didn't want to really leave a bad review, I wanted to discussed where they should improve ext.. They never bothered to call me back !! I or the other 2 couples will never go there again.

Reservations for 5:30pm, arrived at 5:20pm Friday evening. 2/13/26. Seated promptly, our server arrived, Nicolle and introduced herself. Very friendly and informative about menu etc. Our drinks served promptly, gave Nicolle our order, she informed us about what came with our order. Food arrived hot and very delicious. We could not have been happier with service and atmosphere. We will return.

First, I would like to say that the Whately Inn is still my favorite restaurant. The meals have always been fantastic. From the fresh fruit cocktail and rolls, all the way to the delicious chocolate fudge pie and coffee you can't beat the Whately Inn. That being said, yesterday my girlfriend and I visited for Valentines day. We both ordered the Prime Rib. My Prime Rib had a large bone type of structure in it that significantly reduced the amount of meat in the meal. It is the first time that I have been disappointed in my entree. I will consider this a one off and continue to go to the Whately Inn on occasion. Rick Hayden
