The Wells Country Store

They make the greatest pies, fantastic donuts and other baked goods, cheese off the block. Great sandwiches too. The maple soft serve used to be my favorite too.

The food is great... excellent sandwiches, well-filled and made on a large selection of bread and rolls. BUT a caveat: Prices on some things are not marked! I'm an old, disabled man and in my travels around Vermont and elsewhere, I collect coffee mugs. I expect to pay no more than $15 for one; a restaurant in Poultney only charged $4.00. Some have been free. But at Wells, I found a mug with the Wells Country Store logo on it, and did not think it was worth all that much. But by the time they rang up the sale, I was too embarrassed to put it back... it wasn't marked... but they charged me $43.00 for a darn coffee mug!! That's RIDICULOUS. It's not a big mug, but whoever is making them is sure getting a profit off the unaware old guys like me! Be Careful at Wells... prices may be higher than

Lovely deli store in the middle of this tiny town. The workers are so nice and they have so many things here for sale, merch, syrup, wines, beers, as well as sandwiches that are creative and delicious. Zero complaints

The Wells Country Store is amazing. It's super cute, they sell lots of unique beers and ciders, and their sandwiches are amazingly delicious. I go there every time I visit Wells.

Stopped into this quaint country store looking for a bite to eat. Both my wife and I ordered 2 different sandwiches BOTH of which were delicious. The service was great, we are definitely going back you can either sit inside or out depending on the weather. We were able to sit outside amongst the colorful fall leaves. Between the service and atmosphere we would give it more than 5 stars if we were able.
