The Twisted Crab - Newport News

We arrived and was seated immediately. Are drinks and appetizers arrived very fast. Devon, our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. This was our first time and he was able to assist us in ordering EXACTLY what we wanted. Two of us had bags that had the snow crabs and shrimps no heads with the eggs and sausage added , with the twisted sauce. they were VERY pleased. One of us had the snow crab with the Lobster tail and liked it so much, she ordered a second tail. I had dungeonous crabs and black mussels in the garlic butter and they were delicious. Everything arrived quickly, and hot. Devon nwas attentive and on top of refilling our drinks. I cannot speak highly enough about the service The ambiance was nice too. I am really torn here because this place was recommended to me. I waited 40 minutes to even get our drinks and although staff was understanding of our frustration we are actually still waiting. Great atmosphere and I’m hoping I actually get to comment on the food as I write this review from Booth A2 to kill time. I’ll jump back in to update. It’s been 50 minutes and it’s 6:10pm. Update: 6:18pm drinks arrived from an overworked yet professional waiter. Stay tuned….. Update 6:32pm food arrives and OMG it’s not even hot. Besides me, everyone was so hungry they just kept their cold fried food. Update 6:42pm: A staff member just offered to remake the entire order to go. That was appreciated. Something went wrong but the staff was not complacent.

This is a nice cozy space to eat seafood. It was pretty cleaned, the waiter was decent and the seafood was good. The corn didn’t taste too good but the crab legs, shrimp, potatoes and sausage were great. The drinks were good and strong too.

Shoutout to Ty at Twisted Crab! Ty was our waiter and his service was outstanding from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. He checked in at all the right times, answered questions confidently, and kept a great attitude the entire visit. His customer service truly made our dining experience even better. If you’re dining at Twisted Crab, definitely ask for Ty—he’s amazing!

Ty is an amazing server! Meets my expectations, checks to make sure drinks are filled, very polite, has an amazing attitude and always positive. Will ask every time if he working, for him to be my server. Doesn’t make us feel like we have to rush to eat.
