The Toss, San Carlos

This salad was so delicious that I didn't have time to take a photo of it all and ate it right away 😁 the ingredients are very fresh.

High quality delicious salads that feel nourishing and filling. One of my favorite eating out treats for lunch. And their peanut butter cookies are soft and heavenly.

Came across this delightful restaurant for lunch after a nearby hike. It’s not located in the traditional San Carlos downtown, but worth the 5min drive away! Toss offers a delicious variety of salads, as well as some bowls, sandwiches, and soups. My friend and I both enjoyed salads. The ingredients are fresh and the dressings are house made. We also enjoyed fresh focaccia bread. Service was welcoming and friendly. We ordered for dine-in, but there was quite a number of take-out and pick-up orders. Made for a healthy and enjoyable lunch option!

I’ve been a very loyal customer, ordering the Baja salad 2-3 times a week for the past five months. I’ve always enjoyed the food, the friendly and cheerful service the boss lady provides, which made this place one of my favorites. However, I was really disappointed today. When I raised a concern that the portion seemed noticeably smaller than before — especially the blue cheese — the boss lady pushed back and insisted that it was the standard portion, saying, “If you need more, you’ll have to buy extra blue cheese.” It was disheartening to hear that. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable — just hoping for consistency, especially as a loyal customer. Instead of listening and trying to make it right, they chose to defend themselves. Unfortunately the food is not what it used to be, soup, chicken noodle soup is very low quality and no taste at all, the pesto chicken sandwich has no taste or flavor! Somebody must have done something to ruined it. Sorry can not give you guys another try since I have no idea what and when if it ever going to change.
