The Sunflower Cafe

I decided to spend the day in Fairhope, my first stop being The Sunflower Cafe. The café is next door to Fairhope Health Foods, which is a Co-op store. I decided on the sunflower salad (I got a half and it was huge) and the lemongrass stir fry with shrimp. The salad was amazing, it came with spring mix, tomatoes, chickpeas, cucumbers, sprouts, carrots and sunflower seeds. It came with a Greek yogurt dressing which was a bit too think and just average. A lemon tahini dressing would really be delicious on this salad, something that would pour a little easier. The stir fry was good, I would have preferred the rice on the side. The vegetables and shrimp were cooked perfectly, crisp/tender. I'm absolutely obsessed with the blueberry tea that I had, really delicious. And the service was outstan

Tired of fast food? The Sunflower Cafe Is the hidden diamond of truly unique fresh healthy options for lunch or early dinner. Quiet atmosphere personal attention unique food options you have to try. A little bit hidden but easy to find location. Home made bread organic sodas and delicious food. Must try I recommend it whole heartedly.

Truth be known I wasn’t aware that I was eating vegan until after my meal so this review is based on taste and experience. The hummus was amazing. The gumbo tasted like oily spicy warm water with brown rice. The second worst gumbo I have ever eaten. The stir fry was average. The service was average. Not a fan but I’m sure some will love this place.

Really great food and prices. All the sandwiches and wraps come with two sides.
