Customer Reviews
The service was very good — the staff were attentive and friendly. However, the food felt more like American cuisine than authentic Belgian food. The appetizer cost $12 and consisted of only three small deep-fried meatballs, which seemed overpriced for what was served. Overall, while the service was great, I can’t really say this felt like a true Belgian dining experience.
Such a vibe! We enjoyed drinks from their craft cocktail section (Naked in Brussels was great), and their Paper Plane (not in the menu) was TOP. The flat bread was quick to come and their service was fantastic. Sat at the bar (our favorite) and enjoyed it.
One of the best beer bars in the world. I personally think better than Churchkey especially if you love Lambic. Their selection of specialty beers was huge and fair prices especially considering the rare bottle collection. If you love lambic you could be here every day of your trip. Some bottles are limited 1 per group. Service was top notch and each person I talked with was very knowledgeable. Overall if you love great beer then this is your place when visiting the DC area!
I got there when it opened. I ordered off the appetizer part of the menu - I had the steak tartar, picked vegetables and the gruyere croquettes. I also had two Belgian beers. The rest of the menu looked interesting and would be interested to go back. I wasn't paying attention when I first went looking for it and it was way up an alley - I walked right past it :-). Their 'Bicky Sauce' is ketchup and chili powder
Made a reservation for brunch on a Sunday before heading to Reagan Airport. The approach to the restaurant is charming with accent lights and lanterns. Upon arrival we were seated at a booth. My companion's side was still wet from cleaning and made their pants wet. We asked to be moved. The staff was nice but details that make service excellent were missed. We waited for condiments and the food runner stood by the table putting plates in our faces with no communication. We were not asked or offered any coffee or soda refills.
