Customer Reviews
The bride and groom knew from the beginning that they wanted barbecue, and The Smoke Pit was an excellent choice. Having been to receptions where the food was subpar, we wanted the food to be something guests would enjoy. Alan at The Smoke Pit was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. The initial meeting allowed for a tasting of popular meat and sides, provided lots of information, and answered any questions. He was so pleasant to work with and quick and helpful answering all my emails. It was evident in our communication that he was going to do everything he could to make sure the reception buffet was exactly what we wanted and ran smoothly. Having a bartender we could use was also so helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests continue to rant and rave abo
Be ready to eat when you come here because the portions are enough for two, especially the sandwiches. I can’t get enough of the sides. The cornbread has honey drizzled over it and real corn 🤤 The baked beans are a perfect mix of sweet and smoky, and the collard greens have a nice, slight kick. The mac & cheese, baked beans, and sweet potato casserole are all top tier.
This is some good barbecue - they gave me so much food and it was all delicious. Service was fast and the staff were all so nice. I wish they had a dedicated sampler platter though- like 5 meats in smaller portions or something like that so I could try them all.
The fried okra was perfect, the pulled pork was awesome. I wish they had NC style vinegar based options but it was still good. The collard greens were perfect. Delicious corn bread. The brisket was good too! They have Cheerwine which was nice! The seasoned fries and mac and cheese were spot on! And they give you a good amount! We tried the pulled chicken and it was actually good a little on the dry side but good with the multiple sauce options. The BBQ coleslaw was different from what I’m used but good as well and the staff were helpful. I highly recommend!
We are in town from New Orleans. We happened upon this place. It was AMAZING! The portions are huge and everything we ate was full of flavor. Definitely get you some 🤩🙌
