The Silk Road Bistro

Absolutely loved this place! Authentic Uzbek food with real home-cooked flavor. The plov was incredible — tender meat, perfectly cooked rice, and sweet carrots just like it should be. The manti were juicy and full of flavor, and the samsa had that perfect flaky crust with a rich filling and tasty sauce. Even the borscht was amazing — hearty, creamy, and full of meat. They serve tea in a little metal teapot — such a nice traditional touch. The staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Great spot for a family dinner or to bring friends. We’ll definitely be back!

My first restaurant stop in Maryland, and my first time trying Uzbek food: what a great introduction. Every dish I ordered was absolutely delicious. The beef samosa was perfectly crisp and incredibly flavorful, the Uzbek bread was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, and the shurpa was a comforting, hearty soup with tender beef, chickpeas, and vegetables. The salmon kabob was cooked beautifully and seasoned just right. A fantastic first meal in Maryland, and I’m definitely hoping to return before I leave Baltimore.

They microwave the left over meat that is left over and uneaten from banquets and that’s taken from the tables of previous patrons, refrigerate it, put it back on skewers and microwave it. Anybody have an appetite for authentic Uzbek cuisine after this? By the way, there is an authentic Uzbek restaurant up the road that you can try and may be better; Oasis. The place is absolutely disgusting from how it once was. Food quality is non-existent at this point. People have gotten sick from eating at this place. The health dept. needs to and will get involved.

Have only ordered Takeout from here, but it is incredible. The Plov and Lamb ribs are absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are plenty big enough for leftovers. I had never had Uzbeki food prior to having the Silk Road, but it is very good, hearty, food.

If you're looking for a great place to enjoy flavorful Middle Eastern cuisine, The Silk Road Bistro is it! The flavors were authentic and rich. The hummus and pita were excellent, and the grilled meats were tender and juicy. The ambiance is perfect for a laid back dinner with family or friends.
