The Shahi Grill - Indian Food Lawrenceville

I’ve been coming to The Shahi Grill for my cravings of Indian cuisine and have enjoyed every order I placed. Their Curries, Kebabs and Appetizers are all very authentic and delicious. Today I saw their buffet spread. I’m going to try it out next weekend. The staff are very friendly and helpful with their knowledge, they keep me going back again and again. Well Done 👍, keep it up, Shahi Grill.

I usually order from this place only because it’s close to my house. Today, I called to place an order and was kept on hold for almost 20 minutes. Eventually, I realized the staff member had forgotten that I was on hold. At first, I assumed she was dealing with a big or wholesale order in front of her, which would have been understandable. However, by the end of the call, it became clear that it was just an $85 order and the customer was simply trying to get some free sauce. Despite that, the staff member (Arzoo) kept entertaining the customer as if it were a very important order. Every customer and every order matters, not just the ones who speak sweetly to get free extras. This experience was disappointing and unprofessional.

We went to eat inside, but the area was closed (Resurrection Sunday maybe). We ordered food online instead for carry out. At first glance I was unimpressed because the portions were small compared to what I am used to, but once I prepared our bowls, the food was flavorful and aromatic.

The chicken tikka masala was terrible bland, overly oily, and completely lacking flavor. It tasted like a mix of random spices with no balance or richness. Easily one of the worst versions I’ve had.

I tried the Buffett today and it was good. 4 kinds of meat plus 4 types of sides. The chicken kabob was very tasty and juicy.
