The Rusty Anchor Smokehouse

We have been here twice. Both time the meat was excellent! The portions are big and flavorful. The brisket is perfect! The only downfall are the sides. I would give the sides 2 out of 5 stars. Each time the sides were under cooked and bland. If they put as much effort into the sides as they do their meat it would be 5 out of 5! Overall this a good barbeque joint. Come for the meat and you won't be disappointed.

First time visit yesterday, 5:30pm Sunday. Got 1/2 lb brisket, 1 hot link, and a side of sweet potato tater tots. Ordered to go. Got home and was very impressed with the brisket!! Moist, smokey, no visible huge chunks of fat. Hot link was great too. Really wanted potato salad as a side but they didnt have it; sweet potato tots were ok but dont expect same crispy texture as good regular potato tots. In our to-go bag the food was all packed well in clam shells and they added a nice helping of traditional BBQ condiments of sliced onions, pickles and some sliced jalapenos, and 2 small containers of house BBQ sauce which had great flavor. This place has won our hearts for the best BBQ in the four states area. The Ribs are wet, tender and the flavor has to be an old family recipe. The portions are well above average and the service is johnny-on-the-spot and friendly. Price? It's fair for what you get considering all aspects of the dinning experience. Highly recommended.

First time trying Rusty Anchor. I was a bit skeptical after reading a few bad reviews. I told myself to just walk out if I got a bad reception, however to my surprise, the waitresses were very pleasant and very attentive in waiting on us and coming back to check up on us numerous times. My husband and I both had brisket, fries, onion rings, and bbq beans. I had meal he had basket. The brisket was super delicious! Sauce was perfect! Beans, oh my! Fantastic! Fries and everything else was excellent. Will definitely be back! Super clean restaurant and great atmosphere!

What a fun, hidden treasure! We were invited to meet friends at the Rusty Anchor and we're so glad for the invite because we had no idea it even existed. The service and food were wonderful and in addition, we could all talk and enjoy each other without the noise of most restaurants. Try the Rusty Anchor. You'll enjoy it!
