The Red Slate Restaurant

Our first night in the area we ate here at the Red Slate at the Magic Mountain resort. We were early and on Taco Tuesday but ate salads that were very good, yet took a long time to fix for us while others dining also waited awhile for their food orders. Tacos fed many others more quickly. Yet, the steak salad I had came with a full steak on top of the salad and was very good and a good value, too. The waitress was very nice with a mid western accent right out of the movie Fargo. So this is a great place to try.

The food was amazing. Not just “good”. My husband is from England so he’s a fish and chips connoisseur of sorts and loved it! They even had malt vinegar. Our waitress was absolutely great. I have to honestly say that these folks go above and beyond to see that you have a good experience. That being said…we will definitely go back.

This is not a LGBTQ or a woman friendly restaurant. No 🌈🏳️‍⚧️ fly zone. The response from the restaurant just proves my point. They reserve the right to have a “family friendly “ environment aka “heteronormative family friendly” and the bartender has her daughter present all night while primarily cis white men participate in bar talk about speaking poorly of women. I heard very offensive things about the fact the bartender was once on the cover of sports illustrated and what they did looking at her. I simply said don’t you think sports illustrated swim suit edition is more sexualized than books about two moms or two dads. I was then cashed out immediately as the men there were ready to kill me.

The food was great and the service was amazing. Red Slate uses high quality ingredients with a touch of love when they make a meal for you. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner while staying at Upper Pass Lodge.

Now open Mondays and Tuesdays! Food is amazing and great atmosphere inside and outside in the garden dining area.
