The Purple Pelican

Back in the late 60's early 70's my Grandmother lived where this house is now. As a matter of fact the Heartfield's, McLesters & McNutt's owned all of the land down in that cul-de-sac. I see that all the homes on the sea side are now gone including the old doctors home where the dock was & those on the left (if facing east on Heartfield Ln) are not the beautiful homes that once sat here with their solid oak floors & walls. Most of the 100 yr old trees are gone too. It was wonderful memories. At night you could see Port Boliver, Galveston & Texas City lights in the distance to the SE. & the beach from Meme Waters (Mary McLester) home was literally 80 feet away. There was a Dock she own as well. We use to go gigging for Flounders at night with a Coleman lantern & always had out crab traps se
