The Pub

This was my first visit to The Pub. The food was mediocre at best. It started out with a very nice salad bar which my table of 6 seemed to enjoy, but when the entrees arrived the faces were not smiling in satisfaction. I was extremely disappointed in the $75 Fishermen’s Wharf seafood dish for two. All the seafood was over cooked and rubbery. It was not good at all. The best part was the sides of a double stuffed potato. The rack of spare ribs were horrible as well. The ribs were very tough and dry. We went out to celebrate the birthday’s of 2 people in our party and this was not what we expected. My son ordered the pork chops and enjoyed his dish. The server was great and very attentive. Unfortunately, the food was not what I remember this place being known for. My parents used to come here years ago, and the quality seems to have declined. I ordered the BBQ chicken and ribs, and both were extremely overcooked and dry—almost like jerky. It was very disappointing. I rarely leave unfavorable reviews, as you can see from my history, but this is definitely a dish I would recommend avoiding. The salad bar was just okay, but only one side of it was open, which limited the options. What concerned me the most was observing one of the chefs in the open prep area eating bread while working. It was our first time eating at The Pub, and even before going in, I already knew it was popular because there were already a lot of cars outside even before they opened at 3:00 PM. Once we got inside, we were seated right away, but just a few minutes later, the place started to get crowded, and soon people were already waiting to be seated. From the outside, the place looks just so-so, but once you get inside, it’s beautiful with a Christmasy vibe...warm, festive, and very inviting. I ordered the salmon, which was just so-so, but the steak my friend ordered was really good, tender and delicious. First visit to The Pub to celebrate my best friend's birthday. Outstanding in every way. Service, Food, Atmosphere were just great. Enjoyed delicious prime rib and the Chesapeake Chicken. The salad bar has great variety and was very fresh. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Enjoyed a great dinner at The Pub, Saturday evening. Janis, our waitress was wonderful ! My wife had the Caesar salad and said it “was as good as it always is”..I enjoyed several items on the abundant salad bar. We opted for a loaf of their warm loaf of bread.. and both of us enjoyed their Surf & Turf(medium rare) . I had ordered a baked potato, yet Janis brought mashed however immediately noticed it and brought the baked potato. Everything was delicious, just like we remembered it to be. The filet melted in your mouth, the lobster tail cooked perfectly and delicious. Forgot to mention, we enjoyed the cold/crisp shrimp cocktail. Definitely a great evening!
