Amazing family friendly casual pub atmosphere. They have a wide variety of food from apps to sandwiches to salads and entrees. We go here frequently. Tonight I had the baked Irish cod and my husband had the dried cod hoagie. Highly recommend!
I hate giving bad reviews but this was bad. The service is excellent by our server Ella. She was very attentive. Appetizer was the crab dip which was decent but the chips had no flavor and looked over cooked. The Fish and chips was not good at all. The cod tasted freezer burned. It was fried but the bottom looked like it had sat in it's own grease for a while. The breading fell off, not a good sign of thawing or frying. The fries were awful like fried leather with no taste and over cooked. The Condon Chicken was deep fried to a dark brown. Very unappeitizing. The only thing good was the cream potatoes and green beans. The place was packed so the food may be good. Sorry mgmt! Didn't bother saying anything because I will never be back. The menu is not for my particular taste. Good luck in y
I’ve driven by Piper’s Tavern 100 times and I’ve always wondered how it was. I’m so glad I stopped and tried it out! Amazing French Onion Soup. Seriously. Cold beer and a great Bloody Mary. The show stopper was the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. Tender beef, mushrooms, onions and gooey cheese, on the perfect roll. But the best part is this savory, rich beef gravy it comes with. I don’t know who sold their soul to make that gravy but it was worth it! Ask for extra on the side. You’ll thank me.
Great restaurant, great service, great food.....pricey though. Recommended!
Thought maybe would toss a review up on The Pipers. Been here many times since our 2010 arrival to Raleigh. This time The Mrs and I were in the mood for good food and maybe watch the end of The Masters. Not disappointed. She opted for the Chicken Philly (pic) (the reason for the 4 stars on service-a beef Philly came out first but they quickly replaced it) and I went with their Classic meatloaf (pic) and FANTASTIC! Rich gravy and Mashed like Mom used to make. Also The Masters on the TV in front of us at the bar! Stop by and you won’t be the least sorry. Solid place all the time.
