The Pig and I

We wanted to do something unique for our son’s 14th birthday and thought a pig roast would be fun. After speaking with the owner, Jeff, we ended up doing more of a food truck experience for the party and the young crew from our church youth group. Jeff and Julio made porchetta Cuban sandwiches and taco boxes for each guest And it was a hit! We opted not to do the pig after remembering that not all teenagers are adventurous eaters. We took their advice and had a big backyard full of super happy teens and adults. These sandwiches were something special and not just a Cuban for the sake of a menu item. The tacos on handmade tortillas were as fantastic as any I have had and I’m from Houston. They even took our boys in the truck and let them look around as they are super fascinated by ch

The Pig & I was an absolute culinary treat. They describe themselves as a “live-fire, whole-hog food destination rooted in sustainability, craftsmanship, and bold flavor.” They certainly delivered on this with a porchetta based hot sandwich with fresh bread, bitter greens and a horseradish topping to dip into a hot and fresh soup of parsnips, locally sourced mushrooms and other deliciousness. This was an absurdly tasty meal period, let alone in a gravel lot behind a brewery. What an expected delight! Thank you :)

Absolutely FANTASTIC food! We got the Oink Oink special at Gary's Biergarten tonight to try all three items, and every single item was to die for. Cannot wait to try your food again! We especially enjoyed chatting with Chef Jeff. The joy he clearly has in the food is palpable.

Such a great place to eat and food is amazing. My son and I haven't been in a couple of months, but they remembered him, his jersey and even talked soccer with. Food is great but the people make it sooo much better
