I visited The Original Indian River Seafood Market for the first time this weekend and was genuinely impressed. The selection is one of the best I’ve seen in the area: shrimp, clams, a wide variety of fresh fish fillets (including lionfish), lobster, crab, and more. Everything looked clean, fresh, and well presented. I purchased a sesame-crusted tuna steak along with two of their jumbo crab cakes. The tuna was perfect for searing on the grill later, and the crab cakes were exceptional as tonight’s dinner choice. . After searing and baking them, I served them over sautéed spinach and roasted corn with rice, avocado, and a touch of compound butter. The flavor and portion size exceeded expectations. This is a fantastic spot for incredibly fresh fish and shrimp. If you're willing to wait, you can often have your chosen fish filleted straight from the fresh catch. The staff is both friendly and highly knowledgeable about their products. Don’t forget to say hello to Bentley, the lovable labradoodle and unofficial mascot—he’s sure to brighten your day with a wag and a smile!
