The Olympic Tavern

Went here tonight with my daughter for the first time by recommendations from other people. We both enjoyed it, food was excellent along with the service. Very pretty lit up building. Definitely worth visiting again. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf and my daughter had fish and chips. So much more on the menu to try out.

A well established restaurant in rockford that we always enjoy going for special occasions. good options for food and drinks and great service. will be back again.

I had such a great experience at The Olympic Tavern! The atmosphere is warm and lively but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy your conversation. It has that classic tavern feel with a modern touch. The food was amazing — everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The portions were generous, and you can tell they care about quality. They also have a great drink and beer selection, so it’s a perfect spot whether you’re going for dinner, drinks, or both. The service really stood out to me too. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. You can tell why this place has been a Rockford favorite for so long. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

It’s our anniversary and we wanted to try a new-to-us restaurant, so we chose The Olympic Tavern. We both ordered rib eye steak with shrimp. It was delicious! 💜 The garlic mashed potatoes did not taste very garlicky, but the potatoes were still very good. As were the seasonal veggies.😊 Dessert was a flourless chocolate torte - fabulous! Everyone we met was very friendly and the service was good. My only regret is that I did not request a nicer table. We spent our anniversary dinner sitting at a cafe table that was lined-up along a bench shared with multiple people. I did not try the food on this occasion. Service was excellent, personable, down to earth and friendly. Very chill vibe. Featured local art and historical pictures of Rockford. Purse hooks and outlets under the bar, impeccable restrooms, and a great rotation of beers on tap. As a food service worker I loved that below the list of tap beers they also listed the date of the last tap/line cleaning. Clean and quality, chill vibe, slightly bougie.
