The Old Frosty

Found this place by word of mouth from a good neighbor, I sure am glad because this place is awesome. The burgers are big, juicy and very tasty along with there fries/tots! There are a few different varieties of burgers also with upgraded Ground Brisket patties and lots of toppings options. They have some hot dog options also with lots of fixing which I'm going to try next time! Ice cream is very good and the 'regular' size cone is huge- I could barely finish it! So if your looking for a really cool burger spot and ice cream but you are cruising through Ione this is a must stop!

Some people walk up, and think they’re the only people around. They don’t realize that people call in orders, or the person in front of you ordered six burgers to go. If you don’t like the service, please don’t come back, then my wait, which I don’t mind, will be shorter. This is the best place around period! Everything I’ve ever ordered has been hot, fresh, and super good. I think the customer service is good, never had an order screwed up.

Went there to get lunch the other day. I ordered a cheese burger and fries to go. It took almost a half hour to get my food and it's wasn't a lot of people there. The gal behind the counter kept telling me thanks for your patience your order is coming up, OK? Finally she brought up my food and apologized again for the wait but said you'll love it. When I got in my truck and opened the box I was shocked, I almost didn't see my burger because there was an enormous amount of fries and I've seen hockey pucks bigger than that.

It definitely has that Frosty type of vibe to it, with the ability to order and eat outside. You can also order and eat inside if you wish. Nothing overtly fancy about the place, but it's simplicity is refreshing. The pictures of locals and friends on the napkin holders are a nice touch that seems to remind you of how close-knit the establishment is with the community. The Old Frosty is #1 on my list of favorite places to eat in Ione.

Deliciously uncomplicated. Simply enjoyable. Just the essentials.
