Keepin it real out here in Astoria Nothing bad to say about this spot, its clean, got a place to sit, staff were friendly, solid solid. Competition is strong for cafes in Astoria, not in that particular block but they still have to stay on top of their game, which they did
A Bridal Shower Dream Come True – Edible Elegance by Oasis Café! For anyone planning a bridal shower—or any celebration, really—Oasis Café is a treasure. We recently hosted my son’s fiancée’s bridal shower in New York, and the dessert table was nothing short of spectacular, all thanks to the artistry of this exceptional patisserie. We ordered everything from Oasis Café, and what arrived wasn’t just a spread of sweets—it was a celebration of love and craftsmanship. Think: strawberries dipped in rich chocolate and adorned with pearls, golden crème brûlée with perfectly torched tops, airy puffs, tuxedo and heart-shaped cookies, and a showstopping bridal shower cake. Every detail was exquisite. Every flavor was divine. Guests couldn’t stop admiring the presentation—it was a feast for the eye
Holy cow!!!!! I’m a chocolate fanatic, and the 7 layer cake is one the best I’ve had. But when I bit into the mango desert, I stopped eating the chocolate. All 3 of these were equally delicious - light, not overly sweet, yet still moist and baked to absolute perfection!
VERY very nice! The mango pastry is especially divine and my first time trying a creme/mousse pastry! It was divine, only slightly sweet, with a mango filling surrounded by a creme center on top of a soft, but sturdy, crunchy shell! I unfortunately forgot to look at the ingredients before ordering as I am allergic to nuts and I know nuts are a common ingredient in high quality pastries, so I called right after buying and the staff are very knowledgeable of their good products! They even informed me that while the pastry itself was not made of nuts, there was a nut pastry on the tier above it! So kind!
I’m suspicious of any bakery that has dozens of different pastries because all of it can’t be freshly made. Oasis falls into that category. While I’ve had plenty of things that taste a little old here, they have more hits than misses. I’ve tried and reviewed on my food blog 8 different items (and counting!) from Oasis. Mousse based desserts or desserts heavy in cream and sauces are my favorite. In Astoria we’re a little short on those kinds of pastries so Oasis is my go to. Their pistachio raspberry mousse and raspberry mousse cake are my favorite light and airy desserts. The fruit napoleon is right up there too. I’d skip the tres leches which was old and/or used whipped topping; and any of the fruit tarts, which were soggy bottomed and bland. Cake slices are hefty and prices are affor
