THE MELODY MAKER coffee & guitar

The Melody Maker is a great thing for a community. When I was a teenager, my hometown had a coffee shop with an open mic night, and that allowed my friends and I to get comfortable on stage playing rock. This shop is even cooler. It's rock and roll. Guitars everywhere, a few basses, a drum kit, mics, a PA, and an oriental rug which really ties the room together. The staff is cool. The walls are dense with art and opinion. There are hidden gems everywhere you look. The coffee was delicious. The breakfast sandwiches are good but not incredible. Definitely satisfying enough. Unfortunately I don't live nearby, otherwise I'd love to support Melody Maker regularly and see what the jam scene is like. I went in for lunch and had the BLT. Extremely tasty! Also paired it with a London Fog tea (don’t judge me) which was also great. I’ve been here a few times even though this is my first review but how can you not like this place?! Very chill friendly vibe with a little for everyone in here. Musical, literature, vinyl, and of course a plethora of business cards from various local talents. The workers and even the customers all make you feel wanted in here. If you get a chance definitely check this place out!!! 😎🤘

Three things... 1.Best sausage egg and cheese on the planet. Period. 2. My special menu go-to is the pizza bagel (it's way more than it's name suggests - blows the beloved standby from our childhood days of yore completely outta the water.) 3. Get the Ex-husband latte, iced with whole milk. If you are getting divorce it will help you get thru it, or celebrate it. And that's just the food. Zac and the gals are awesome with a dash of spice. And the space has a soul. If you want an interesting, delicious and memorable experience, come here. If not, you can easily go find a lesser experience elsewhere. Guaranteed. Your life, your choice.

September 2025 Update - Still our favorite. LOVE the expanded space and expanded offerings. We were looking forward to checking out Melody Maker and it did not disappoint. Delicious food, excellent coffee, chill vibe, and Zach was super friendly and cool. Can't wait to go back! ETA: Melody Maker continues to be our go-to for a coffee (and snack) treat. Staff is very friendly. We enjoy checking out the rotating art displays and were excited to purchase a piece of art from a local talent. MM is a hidden gem in Clinton!

Truthfully, I wept a little in joy. I would’ve sold my third eye to find this gem of a coffee shop years ago. I’m glad you’re here now Melody Maker 💕 Zac is the best! Staff are great too. I usually hang out here to get heckled by the owner, but as it turns out, the food and coffee are actually delicious - they have vegan options!! 🌱 The Lattes are better than big chain coffee shops and a bagel with cream cheese is delish. Not to mention, there’s guitars and gear to play with. Dream come true for us hungry musicians! I used to go to their first location on Water St which was great too, but the Main St location has been a fantastic expansion. But most importantly, they kept the hilarious sign!!
