The Market Cafe at Michael Anthony's

What a find! We wanted to eat Italian for lunch and made it just in time before the kitchen was closing. To start, the staff was very welcoming despite us walking in so late. We ordered a Cesar salad, vegetarian pizza, couple of seafood pastas and 2 desserts. Everything was phenomenal. So good that my wife made me bookmark this place so we can come back here on our next visit. The ambience is great, feels very authentic. The servers were very friendly and accommodated our vegetarian requests (for my parents). I wish them well and hope they continue to serve and thrive in Hilton head for a long time.

5 star experience. Great service and the food was just as good. Our server took great care of us and was very thorough in recommending dishes. We can't wait to come back.

Before I get into details, I would like to say that the overall experience of this place is amazing. Food is delicious great atmosphere and super welcoming staff. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for Italian food. We attended this restaurant for our anniversary. We were welcomed with Prosecco, which was on the house very nice and sweet start to our meal. For our starters we ordered the sausage and peppers and the baguette. The sausage and peppers were so flavorful the sausage really burst in your mouth and had just the perfect amount of seasoning but yet we’re super juicy. Excellent food and service! Stopped in for a quick lunch close to closing and they were more than accommodating. Pizza, salad, dessert. Couldn't have been better!

Both the food and service at the Market Cafe are top notch. The calamari appetizer was served hot (i.e., freshly cooked) with an excellent spicy arrabbiata (actually spicy). What truly impressed me was the Tagliatelle Neri (squid ink pasta in a spicy cream tomato sauce with bay scallops and shrimp). The pasta was clearly homemade and cooked perfectly. The flavor was outstanding and this dish was also served hot. The servers were attentive without being annoying. Our water glasses were kept full. Prices were reasonable, particularly given the quality of the food. My only knock on this restaurant is that their "baguette" is a baguette-shaped ciabatta (or a close cousin).
