The Lyttleton Inn

The studio apartments are amazing for both long-term and short term tenants. I highly recommend seeing if one’s available if you’re looking for a place. No longer run in but still has that nice in feeling with private baths and a common kitchen.

I made reservations online and was not disappointed. The photos and descriptions of the rooms were accurate and I was pleased with my quarters. Love the book-based decor! The bed was comfortable and room was cozy. Breakfast was served outdoors on the porch, and it was a tad nippy but our hostess provided warm blankets and the coffee was hot and the food outstanding. This is a great find!

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary traveling through New England and we stayed here on our anniversary. We don't get to travel much, so this trip and our anniversary were an extra special opportunity to get away. We were so glad we decided to stay at the Lyttleton Inn and we enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to stay an extra night at the inn! Not only does the Lyttleton Inn have a great ambiance, vibe, and character with all the beautiful details that have been thought of and with the decorating and accessory choices, but the food and innkeeper also shined. From the themes of the rooms, to the books available in the common rooms and in individual rooms, to the little details like water and glasses in rooms and biscotti (amazing!) and tea available in the common roo

Staying here was a GREAT decision. The innkeeper is welcoming and helpful, and available at any time. The rooms are remarkably well-appointed and comfortable. I appreciated small details like outlets accessible on both sides of the bed, and lighting options (from bright for reading, to dim for relaxing). Each room has a theme, is designed with furniture, art and books aligned with that theme. (My room had a Maritime theme.) The breakfast was excellent, and featured local food and products made in-house. The entire inn is very clean. I was traveling for work and this was a perfect place to stay. I plan to return.

We reserved three rooms upstairs. Upon arrival we quickly realized that my 85 year old mother couldn't make it up the original 1800's staircase. Fortunately the one downstairs room was available and Mary quickly got it ready for us. The beds were great, and the breakfast was wonderful. ||||The house dates from the early 1800's and has a lot of the original details intact. Very charming all around. A nice break from the usual chain hotels.
