The Lunch Box

I came here at the suggestion of one of my co-workers in Dallas. I'm originally from El Paso, but haven't been back in a few years. I was seated right away, but waited for a good while to be served. It was only until I was about to get up and leave when I was asked had I been served yet. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and chicken gorditas (al-a-carte). The chicken was dry and the sides (beans and rice) were pretty bland. I don't see what the hype is but I definitely won't be going back on my own dime.

My coworkers and I bought tickets for a fundraiser. The tickets can only be used for one week and during lunch hours. The tickets were only for enchiladas. All rules were understood and that was not the issue. The issue was the food. The enchiladas were terrible, zero seasoning, zero salt, zero taste. To top it off i got heartburn from the enchiladas (I never get heartburn). The beans were also terrible. The rice was ok. I dont recommend this place and will never go back. Literally the worst enchiladas I have ever had. My coworkers agree.

The lunch box has been a personal favorite of mine for over 2 decades. I love the authentic flavor of the gorditas. They have three and i was fortunate to have tried them all. I absolutely loved them all and I wasn’t able to find the one that tasted the best. I love the flavor of the charro beans and the spicyness of the salsa. Perfect meal.

The red stew with beef with sides of beans, rice and salad. The whole meal was good but not the best I've had; the tortillas were okay; and the lemonade was fine. It was busy but no waiting for a table, parking was fine but crowded, and we ur sever was fast and attentive. Overall a good place for a hot meal at a very reasonable price.
