Unique place to have a good traditional meal. Amazing peanut butter pie. The knowledge of Abraham Lincoln once stayed there adds to the experience.

First off, don't be in a hurry, but come hungry. It's an extremely popular place. Chicken was spot on, cole slaw (vinegar base) awesome, German (fried) potatoes, awesome, mashed potatoes (wife says) the best! Grabbed a slice of carrot cake and German chocolate cake for the hotel. I'm thinking from now on, only finished plates for my photos. 😆😉 For a large group, definitely make reservations.

The food was good. I think the chicken could have used a little more flavor, but the gravy and biscuits were delicious. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was amazing. I didn't know the history of the place until we got there, so that was a nice treat. If I am ever in the area again I'd go back. FYI to us the German fries are just American (fried) potatoes, if you are wondering.

So we came back now a year later. Fried chicken mashed potatoes and brown gravey still great. Fried catfish and fried potatoes also yummy. Was sad as they didnt have any cornbread but everything else was great. Had some apple pue this time and loved it. Also got sone ham to take away and loved it. It was as good as everyone says it is! I was skeptical because it's hard to find decent restaurant food these days, but they hit the mark for home style cooking. Everything was delicious! Service was fantastic even though they were busy. If you're looking for some good food, make this a place you check out!
