The Little Rendezvous

I came here after seeing it ranked as a top pizza place and wasn’t sure what to expect. The space is tiny and very simple, but the pizza… absolutely incredible. I ordered ahead and got my food instantly, and the first bite changed everything. This place proves that great pizza doesn’t need fancy decor — just amazing flavor. Will definitely be back!

I recently drove from Cherry Hill, NJ, to New Haven, CT, on a pizza pilgrimage, but detoured to The Little Rendezvous in Meriden after its glowing reviews. It was the best pizza experience of my life—surpassing every pie I've had in Italy (Naples margheritas, Roman pinsas, Tuscan spots) and beyond. Their classic tomato pie is perfection: impossibly thin, coal-fired crust with perfect leopard-spot char from a 130+ year-old oven, bright tangy sauce swirled just right, light cheese that lets the dough and smokiness shine. Crunchy edges, tender center—pure transcendence. The spot is no-frills and old-school on Pratt Street. It's cash only, insanely busy (walk-ins are rare), so call ahead—they're super accommodating if you plan. Waits are long because pies are made fresh, one at a time. Steve C

I honestly don't see or taste what the fuss is about. It tasted like a frozen pizza with no taste. Hate to give it 2 stars but that's for friendly service and old school feel. The pizza wasn't good at all.

I don’t usually leave reviews but this one deserves it. The pizza is amazing, i ordered for 6:30 and the pizza was ready (and still absolutely fresh) at 6:30! Me and my family didn’t finish all the pizza that night so we had some for the morning and the pizza still had all of its flavor and still tasted amazing!!! 10/10 will definitely eat from here again
